PySnapshot is a free and open source backup program that uses the principle of file system snapshots. Snapshots are complete pictures of every file and directory as they exist at a given time. Backup programs that use snapshots usually try to conserve space on the backup media by creating hardlinks to files which have not changed from the previous snapshot.
